Dance Belongs Here.
So do you.
We're a small team with a big ambition: to make sure everyone in the Tees Valley can find their way to dance. If that sounds like your kind of work, here's what it's like to be part of it.
TeesDance is a registered charity bringing dance to communities across the Tees Valley. We're a small, growing team hiring both employed and freelance roles across marketing, participation and delivery. See our current vacancies below, or register your interest if nothing's open right now.
Our story so far.
Since TeesDance was incorporated in 2021, we've grown from a single programme into a registered charity working across all five Tees Valley boroughs. We've reached 20,000+ people, invested £550k+ in local communities, and worked with 120+ local freelance artists. We're funded nationally and rooted locally, with funding from Arts Council England, Tees Valley Combined Authority, Sport England and others. As we grow toward National Portfolio Organisation status, we're building the team to match.
Our values.
What it’s like to work here.
A small, flexible team. Most people work part-time and set their own hours around care commitments and other work.
Home-based by default, with time together in person for sessions, events and team catch-ups.
Direct access to the CEO and the rest of the small team, no layers of management to get your ideas heard.
“I founded TeesDance to make dance part of everyday life in the Tees Valley, not just on stages, but in communities, schools and shared experiences. Care, equity and collaboration sit at the heart of everything we do. We know that brilliant candidates don't always look the same on paper. If our values resonate with you, I'd love to hear from you.”
Amy Swalwell, Founder & CEO

How we hire.
Equal opportunities.
Apply online with a CV or media file and a few short values-based questions. We review applications as they come in, not just at the deadline. If shortlisted, we'll arrange an informal conversation or interview, and let you know either way.
We're an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from people currently under-represented in the cultural sector, including people from the global majority, people who identify as LGBTQIA+, and people who are d/Deaf or disabled.
We run a Guaranteed Interview Scheme: any applicant who identifies as d/Deaf, disabled and/or under-represented, and who meets the must-haves above, will be guaranteed an interview. Just let us know on your application.
