About MoveBaby™
MoveBaby™ is a free, gentle movement session for babies and their parents or carers, led by a professional TeesDance dance artist who specialises in working with very young children. It runs every Thursday at Thorntree Family Hub in Middlesbrough — no booking, no cost, just turn up. We’ve also got a new session starting at 10am on Thursdays in Redcar, from 7th September.
Expect gentle, sensory-led movement — music, rhythm, touch and connection. Sessions respond to where your baby is at on the day. Some weeks it's calm and soothing; other weeks it's a bit more lively. Your dance artist will read the room and the babies.
MoveBaby™ is as much for the grown-ups as it is for the babies. It's a chance to get out, connect with other parents and carers, move your body and enjoy an hour that's warm, social and unhurried.

Yes, completely free. MoveBaby is funded by Arts Council England's Breaking New Ground programme.

Sessions welcome babies from a few weeks old up to toddler age. If you're not sure whether your little one is the right age, just get in touch and we'll let you know.

No booking needed — just come along on Thursdays at 1pm. You're welcome to get in touch first if you'd like to know more.

Just your baby and a spare change of clothes for them. Everything else is provided. Comfortable clothes for you too — you'll be moving around on the floor!

Yes — families with children of different ages are very welcome. Let us know when you arrive and we'll make sure everyone's included.

Absolutely. The sessions are open to anyone caring for a baby — parents, grandparents, childminders, foster carers, all welcome.
