The sound of 150 years.

Every great Boro moment has a soundtrack. On Saturday 17 October, the 300 people dancing on the Riverside pitch will have one written just for them.

Meet the composer.

Tom Powell is a composer and a lifelong Middlesbrough fan. Tom said: "I wanted the music to sound like Teesside. Not just the football club, but the town, its people, its humour, its history, its resilience and its optimism. This is a place with an incredible story to tell, and I wanted the music to reflect that."

Made with the Tees Valley.

Tom created the score with musicians, singers and communities through Tees Valley Music Service. Every musician on the recording is from the Tees Valley, including students, alumni and teachers.

Listen out for…

  • The crowd. The score opens with real crowd recordings from the Millwall game in April 2026.

  • A nod to Chris Rea. You'll know it when you hear it.

  • A very familiar voice. Boro commentary legend Alastair Brownlee.

Hear it live at the Riverside, 12.15pm on Saturday 17 October.
