We've been in the studio. And what Tom has created is something special!

This week, TeesDance spent a day with composer Tom Powell and Tees Valley Music Service - and what came out of that room is something we're genuinely excited for you to hear.

The brief was ambitious. Create an original piece of music for a 300-person community dance performance at the Riverside Stadium, opening a home game in front of 34,000 people. It needed to feel like Middlesbrough. It needed to feel like a celebration. And it needed to work for everyone - professional dancers and first-timers, eight-year-olds and older adults - all performing together on the same pitch.

Tom delivered. And then some! We're not giving everything away yet (a teaser can be found on our social posts!) but it’s epic.

The music is original, composed specifically for this project, and will be performed live at the Riverside in October as part of MFC's 150th anniversary celebrations.

More to come very soon. Including a little taste of what 300 Tees Valley dancers sound like. 🎡
