We're hiring: Social Media Coordinator.
TeesDance, the flagship dance charity for the Tees Valley, is hiring a part-time Social Media Coordinator for 1 day a week. Pay is £22,000–£25,000 a year pro rata (PAYE) or £120–£220 a day (freelance), and applications close 15 August 2026.
Every post, story and reel you create helps more people discover that dance is for them. That's the job, in one sentence. We're looking for someone to help us tell TeesDance's story: the sessions, the artists, the small moments that turn into someone's first time dancing in years. One day a week. Real impact.
Why now.
Since 2021, we've grown from a single programme into a registered charity working across all five boroughs of the Tees Valley, reaching 20,000+ people, working with 120+ local freelance artists, and investing over £550,000 in local communities, including £207,000 unlocked for local artists through match funding.
We're growing fast, and our story is growing with us. Right now, most of it lives in people's heads and phone galleries rather than online where more people could see it. That's what this role is for.
What you'd be doing.
Growing awareness and participation with a consistent, engaging social media presence
Turning real photos, video and stories from participants and artists into content that shows what TeesDance actually does
Replying to comments and messages quickly and warmly, so people feel welcome online, not just in the room
Creating shareable content for our Dance Belongs Here campaign and funding bids
Using analytics to see what's landing with different audiences, and adjusting from there
Making sure everything is accessible, with captions and alt text, so no one's left out

Pay: £22,000–£25,000 a year pro rata (PAYE), or £120–£220 a day (freelance), depending on experience
Hours: 1 day a week, Thursday or Friday preferred
Location: home-based, Tees Valley, with occasional travel to sessions and events
Reports to: Marketing & Impact Lead

What we're looking for.
Brilliant candidates don't always look the same on paper. We're more interested in a confident, adaptable writing style and hands-on experience creating content (personal or voluntary experience counts too) than a particular qualification. A genuine connection to dance, the arts or community work in the Tees Valley helps, as does being comfortable filming and editing short videos on a phone.
